Accessing Counselling in a Way That Feels Right for You

I understand that everyone feels comfortable in different ways, so I offer several ways to access counselling. Whether you prefer to meet online or over the phone, you’ll receive the same calm, compassionate, and confidential support, in a space that feels right for you.

How You Can Access Counselling

Online – You can access counselling from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Online sessions offer flexibility and convenience, making it easier to fit support around your daily life and personal needs.

Over the Phone – If you prefer not use video, telephone counselling offers a gentle and accessible way to talk. It allows you to connect and be heard wherever you feel most comfortable.

My Prices

Initial Consultation.

I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation, either by phone or online.

This is a brief, informal conversation to help us decide whether working together feels right. You can share a little about what’s bringing you to counselling, ask any questions, and get a sense of how I work.

This consultation is not a counselling session, and there is no obligation to book further sessions. Full counselling takes place within booked, paid appointments.

Concessions may be available — please ask

I currently offer counselling online and by telephone. If face-to-face sessions are offered in the future, these will take place in a suitable hired therapy room.

Online & Telephone Counselling

What is online counselling?

  • Online counselling takes place via a secure video platform (Microsoft Teams).
  • We talk face-to-face through your device, in real time.
  • Being able to see your counsellor allows for connection, engagement, and therapeutic presence, while offering the convenience of staying in your own space.
  • Clear instructions will be sent to you before your first session, and support is available if you feel unsure.

Telephone counselling

  • Sessions take place by phone at the agreed time.
  • You will need access to a private, quiet space where you will not be overheard.
  • Telephone counselling can feel more comfortable for some people, especially if being on camera feels overwhelming.

What you will need

  • A phone, tablet, laptop, or computer
  • A stable internet connection (for online sessions)
  • A private, quiet space where you feel safe and comfortable
  • Headphones are optional but can help with privacy

You do not need to be confident with technology. Guidance will be provided

If technology doesn’t work

  • If a session is disrupted due to technical issues, I will attempt to reconnect.
  • If we are unable to continue online, we may switch to a telephone session or rearrange the appointment.
  • The focus remains on your support, not the technology.

Is online or telephone counselling effective?

  • Research and experience show that online and telephone counselling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy.
  • Many people find it easier to open up in familiar surroundings.

Help with setting things up

  • Clear, step-by-step instructions will be sent to you before your first online session.
  • I am happy to offer gentle guidance if you feel unsure about joining the session.
  • Time can be allowed at the beginning of the first session to help you settle in.
